Genesis 1:18 - Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”

the one thing that stuck out to me was how God met adam’s needs. adam didn’t have to ask for it, and i bet he didn’t even recognize his needs, yet God fulfilled one of his deepest needs. in the midst of it, adam may have been confused and unsure of what was going to happen, but God knew. i don’t know about you, but that comforts me so much…because if God knows adams needs, then he knows my needs. if he can create a woman out of the dust, then that shows that there’s about nothing he can’t do. yeah, trees…birds…mountains, heavens, earth…amazing. but a woman? there IS a GOD. God met adam’s needs so much greater than he could ever ask for, and he does the same for me.

God created. 

it blows my mind that God created from nothing. our greatest artists of all history were great because of inspiration. they were inspired by other great artists…the saw art…they dreamed of art…they immersed themselves in creative atmospheres.

but when God created, he wasn’t inspired by the great artist before him. he didn’t look to books to find inspiration. he saw himself and that was it. he was inspired by himself. God reflected his beauty into his creation, and it was good. i can’t even fathom just how creative our God is. 

imagine being in heaven and witnessing God’s creation. if we are amazed at God’s earthly creation, then how much more will we be amazed at what he’s got in heaven? eternal shock and awe. like,

“oh my God…what is that.” 

“so beautiful and freaky.”

“wings with eyeballs everywhere on them. i would not have thought of that, but God you are just awesome.” 

repeat for eternity!! like the first bite of that perfect steak, forever, without ever getting full. perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and marinated. mmmmmmm
